Unless announced otherwise, Mt. Wheeler Power's board meeting are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Wheeler Power's main office in Ely.

DISTRICT 1 DIRECTOR
MT. WHEELER POWER PRESIDENT:
KAYE KIRKEBY

Kaye Kirkeby has represented the member-owners of District 1 since 2002. In addition to serving on the Mt. Wheeler Power board, Kaye Kirkeby has served on the White Pine District School Board for eight years and was on the First National Bank of Ely Board of Directors. He also served on the FHA committee which loaned money to ranchers.
 
DISTRICT 2 DIRECTOR, BOB SWETICH

Bob Swetich has been serving the member-owners of Mt. Wheeler Power for the better part of three decades.  A Mt. Wheeler Power retiree with 27-years of service, Swetich opted to re-enter cooperative service in early 2006 as the District 2 director.

A lifelong resident of Nevada, Swetich has been involved in many community service capacities outside of the Board.  For ten years he has served on the Regional Planning Commission, acting as its Chairman for four years.
 
DISTRICT 3 DIRECTOR, JERRY T. MORRILL

Elected as the new District 3 director in 2008, Jerry has been a resident of White Pine County, Nevada for most of his life. He has worked for several mines including Kennecott Copper Corporation as an ironworker and BLM as an equipment operator. Jerry also worked for the Bureau of Land Management for 17 years. He is a member of the McGill Town Council, the McGill Volunteer Fire Department and the Nuclear Waste Advisory Board.
 
DISTRICT 4 DIRECTOR, DON PHILLIPS

Don Phillips is a new addition to the Mt. Wheeler Power board, filling a
previously vacant director seat. Because of the District 4 vacancy, Phillips
was allowed to begin serving his director term in March, 2006.
 
DISTRICT 5 DIRECTOR, DOUG CARSON

Born in Las Vegas, Doug lived in Ely from 1969 to 1976, before he moved back to Las Vegas to run his own General Contracting business. In 2001, he and his wife, Laurie decided to move back to White Pine County and purchased a hay farm which became "Hay-U" Company. They consider White Pine County their home and one of the most scenic, peaceful places in Nevada.

Doug has always been active in his community, serving on many boards over the years. Today he serves on the Nevada Community Foundation, State of Nevada Board for Construction Education, Central Nevada Water Authority, is Chairman of the White Pine County Water Advisory Board and recently became Board of Director For Mt. Wheeler Power District 5.
 
DISTRICT 6 DIRECTOR,
MT. WHEELER POWER VICE-PRESIDENT: JERALD ANDERSON

Jerald Anderson serves as the board director for the members of District 6. He has servcd in this position since 2004.

Anderson has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and currently operates the West Side Ranch in Snake Valley. He holds two Bachelors Degrees from the University of Utah, one in Physics and the other in Accounting.
 
DISTRICT 7 DIRECTOR, SANDRA L. GREEN

Sandra has been a resident of Eureka County for over 35 years and became the new Board Director for District 7 in 2008. Sandra is currently the Program Director of the 21st Century Community Learning Center/Eureka County School District After School Program, volunteer director for Start 2 Finish, Inc., chairman of the DaKaDoiyabe Resource Conservation District, Eureka County Rodent Board member and is an Advisory Board Member for the UNR Cooperative Extension.
 
DISTRICT 8 DIRECTOR,
MT. WHEELER POWER SECRETARY: WILMA SANFORD

Wilma Sanford returned to the Mt. Wheeler Power Board in 2003 as the District 8 Director. She had previously served on the Mt. Wheeler Power Board from 1995 to 1998.

In addition to her Board duties, Sanford is the Manager of the White Pine County Museum. She is happy to listen to any questions member-owners may have, and invites any District 8 member with a cooperative concern to discuss it with her.
 

DISTRICT 9 DIRECTOR
TREASURER
, FRANK LEON

Frank Leon was appointed by the Mt. Wheeler Power Board in September of 2005 to serve as the District 9 director.

A lifelong resident of Ely, Leon has a strong background in radiology, serving as the head of a radiology department for 12 years. He also worked for more than 20 years at Kennecott.
